DESCRIPTION:The 10th Turkish Pazar Festival will transform Queen Victoria Market into a traditional Turkish bazaar\, where visitors will experience the vibrant tastes\, colours and sounds of Turkey through food\, music\, arts and crafts and cultural displays. All entertainment is free and suitable for people of all ages and abilities. \nA day-long traditional Turkish breakfast and numerous food stalls will entice the taste buds. Offerings include gözleme (savoury pancakes)\, kebabs (how many types are there?)\, kumpir (baked potatoes Turkish style)\, and börek (sweet and savoury pastries). \nVisitors can relax over an authentic Turkish coffee prepared on a hot bed of sand and maybe get their fortune told. \nThe day-long stage program will include overseas performers Aydin Beyoglu and Akin Zabit and on Sunday a highlight will be the military precision of the colourful Australian Mehter Band\, the first Ottoman-style marching band outside Turkey.
