DESCRIPTION:The Victoria Street Lunar Festival returns in 2022 by welcoming the Year of the Tiger. This year\, Victoria street will come to life in true hawker food style focusing on the outdoor dining experience. Local restaurants will extend their trade to footpath dining\, and food stalls will be located along Victoria Street\, each with their own dining areas. Like any restaurant operating in Melbourne at the moment\, guests will be asked to check in using the QR code system we’ve all become accustomed to.\nThe event will operate as a COVIDsafe event and is able to proceed with some changes which means regular activities such as carnival rides\, eating competitions and entertainment stages will be included in this year’s programming.\nWhilst we encourage people to visit Victoria Street and support local businesses\, we urge attendees to stay safe and socially distance by finding a spot at one of many outdoor dining spots.\nDuring the day\, expect to see the famous Lion Dance\, Dragon dancers and firecrackers. The Victoria Street Lunar Festival has become one of the most popular Lunar New Year celebrations in Victoria. We invite people of all cultural backgrounds to commemorate the start of the Chinese New Year with food and firecrackers.
