Upcoming Food Festivals in Melbourne this September
This month, we are bringing you more wine than dine, but sometimes, you just need to hydrate, right?
Or something like that. Oh, but we have seafood. All the seafood!
Melbourne Royal Show
Dates: Thursday 26th – Sunday October 6th
Location: Melbourne Showgrounds, Ascot Vale
Cost: TBC – Watch out for family passes and early bird offers
And don’t forget about the iconic Melbourne Royal Show! We’ve said it before, we know this one is not a food festival in the strictest sense, but it’s still on any Melbourne foodie’s checklist. Food trucks everywhere, pop-up restaurants, fine cuisine, award-winning cheese, coffee, gin, cold beer… all in one place! We don’t mind a sneaky show bag either, shhh, don’t tell anyone.
Wine & Vine Festival
Dates: Saturday 14th – Sunday 15th
Location: The Abbotsford Convent, Abbotsford
Cost: From $57.99
Oh, look! Wine & Vine is over the whole weekend this year. That’s what we like to see. Time to devour delectable cheeses, sip on worthy wines and even meet the makers. Don’t forget their bold beers and sample-icious cidars(?). Ok, we’ll end the alliteration now. Tickets sell out for this one so even though it’s two days, don’t wait or you’ll be high and dry!
Tidal Seafood Festival
Dates: Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd
Location: San Remo
Cost: $7/day or $10 for 2 days. Under 16 free. ** Profits donated to the local SES and CFA!
It’s time to dive into the Tilda Seafood Festival again and this year, it’s even bigger. And we mean that literally. They’ve taken over more space to bring us more seafood offerings, more food trucks, and more stalls. Why, thank you (sea)food gods! Oh, and they are making it easier to get there too with offsite parking and a minibus shuttle. It makes sense, who wouldn’t want to ‘sea’ food and eat it too? We’re so punny.
St Kilda Gin Festival
Dates: Friday 13th – Sunday 15th
Location: St Kilda Town Hall, St Kilda
Cost: From $73.72
The Gin Festival at the Timberyard has proven so popular that now we have, another gin festival! Can’t say we’re disappointed. With 30 Aussie craft distillers and over 120 unique gins to get you nice and… happy, attendees are promised an extraordinary experience. Book your three-hour tasting session for unlimited gin tastings, and a bunch of goodies to take home. Don’t worry, when hunger strikes, they’ve got your foodie belly covered!
