Little Food Festival
25 September, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 26 September, 2019 @ 5:00 pm
Presented by the Sandro Demaio Foundation and nib.
This school holidays, the Little Food Festival is taking over Fed Square!
Join us for a jam-packed two days of immersive, vibrant celebration, as we explore the food we eat, where it comes from, and what this means for our health.
Using art and play, the Little Food Festival offers a simple and fun opportunity for little ones to consider complex food topics such as health and sustainability. Grounded in playful education, with kid-friendly, bite-sized learning sessions designed by lecturers and pre service teachers from Monash University’s Faculty of Education, lecturers and design students from MADA, Librarians, and other terrific contributors from the Monash University community.
For two days only, Little Food Festival will fill the main square with composting stations, native foods, eco-warrior workshops, exhibitions, cooking demonstrations and more. We have an incredible line-up of contributors including the Sage Garden, Zero Waste Victoria, Bee Healthy, Phenomenom! and more to be announced.
Through these hands-on workshops, kids will be invited to listen, question, taste, and explore the power that food has to positively influence our health, the environment and community around us.

Sustainability
Little Food Festival has a strong commitment to reducing its impact on the environment.
To help us in our mission, we kindly ask you to bring your favourite mug or handy reusable cup, plus a water bottle along with you.
By doing so, we can eliminate single-use plastic at the festival completely. Vendors will accommodate your mug or cup when purchasing drinks and water fountains will be available on site.
Getting There
We encourage low environmental impact travel, and your minimal footprint journey can begin as soon as you leave for the festival. With that in mind, there is ample bicycle parking around Fed Square (on Swanston and Flinders St), plus bus, tram and train options within close distance.)
