Victoria’s most loved coastal celebration of the region’s top drops, produce and talent ascends on Mornington once more for the seventh edition of The Peninsula Picnic on Saturday 25 March 2023, offering social explorers the perfect opportunity to indulge in a stacked line-up of the Peninsula’s best.
A highlight on the social calendar, promising to be bigger and better than ever, the festival presents the ideal Saturday afternoon spent uncovering some of the area’s most favoured and beloved producers, growers and gourmet store owners as a selection of Australia’s leading live music acts serenade.
In true Peninsula Picnic form, music remains a feature, headlined by Aussie music royalty, The Temper Trap, poised to get revellers on their feet with their iconic panoramic pop/rock sound. Considered one of Australia’s best live acts, the indie band have performed globally on arena support tours, gracing the stages of Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and Coachella.
The Sweet Disposition crooners will be supported by acclaimed multi-ARIA Award winning acoustic troubadour Josh Pyke, folkesque indie-powerhouse Tia Gostelow, Queen Of Hearts Mariachi Band, and up and coming songwriter, Tahls.
The delectably diverse mix of sound will set the scene for true feast as local producers converge to deliver the ultimate foodie experience and expertise the Peninsula is renowned for.
Spotlighting the finest fare, spanning from Main Street, Mornington to Red Hill, Sorrento to Fingal, the sea-salted surrounds of Mornington Racecourse will welcome culinary delights from Red Gum BBQ, DOC Mornington, Lorida, The Rocks Mornington, and St Andrews Beach Brewery.
No stranger to fine wines, The Peninsula Picnic will boast a selection of the region’s most acclaimed wineries sure to satisfy curious connoisseurs, including Montalto, and Paringa Estate. For those seeking more satiating spirits, JimmyRum and Bass and Flinders Distillery will be on site for tastings, in addition to St Andrews Beach Brewery, serving crisp pours.
Young picnickers can also relish in the day, with kids’ arts and crafts, lawn games, and range of interactive entertainment on offer to spread the fun and excitement right across the grounds.
Various dessert and market stalls from local artisans provide the perfect complement to the day’s celebration of local produce and Australian artists, all situated in leafy surrounds just minutes from the picturesque Port Phillip Bay.
