Melbourne has always been a hub of creativity and good food and drink, so it’s the perfect place for this 10-Day Food and Wine Festival extravaganza kicking off with the Longest Lunch.  More than 200 top restaurants and wineries will come together to celebrate the best food and wine our country has to offer. Since 1993, the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival has promoted Melbourne as the food and wine capital of Australia. From cooking classes to cellar door tours and even activities for the kids, there’s something for everyone. We’ll see you there, foodies.

Wine and Cheese Festival

 

If cheese is your thing, this is the festival to write down on your calendar. With over 50 wine, cheese, and artisan producers under one roof, you’ll surely walk away satisfied.

The ticket price includes tastings, masterclasses, entertainment, and even a gift for you to keep. In its tenth year, this festival was created by the producers themselves to promote local offerings.

There’s even a grape stomp competition so why not come treat your feet too?

Meatstock

 

Food and wine festivals can be a chance to get all fancy, but sometimes you just want to get downright Aussie, and what better way than with Meatstock, the barbecue and music festival?

Ticket price includes access to concerts, food trucks, stalls, and live demonstrations.

Meatstock is about celebrating butchers and barbecue teams with grilling competitions, butcher wars, demonstrations, and much more. This event travels to three states across Australia so you know they mean business.

Herb and Chilli Festival

 

If Meatstock isn’t your thing, head a little east out of the city to the Yarra region for “Australia’s hottest weekend”.

The Herb and Chilli Festival is in their 11th year and features foods from all over the world. The festival celebrates residents and nursery operators in the valley as well as producers of herbs and chilies.

More than 80 stores will present International dishes from Mexico, Turkey, India, South America, Europe, etc. But it’s not just Chilli! There will be plenty of ice cream, berries, cakes, and more along with wines, beers, juices, and coffee. Catch a cooking demo or maybe even join an eating competition.

And yes, there is even a good old chili cook-off.
