The Melbourne Food Trucks phenomenon is about to reach a new level.  With dedicated food truck parks and festivals already in action the food truck is gaining even more traction – well on the road to becoming a Melbourne icon.

And now Federation Square is set to become the stage for a huge Melbourne food trucks bonanza through the warm Summer months, putting Melbourne’s stamp on the culinary world map yet again!  Federation Square management are looking to introduce food trucks every Friday to Sunday, as well as special events – and are wanting food truck vendors to register their interest.

This year the Melbourne Food truck scene exploded and became its own entity. Gone are the days when the humble food truck was a side show at markets and carnivals. It is now a feature act. It is ceasing to be merely a food source or something to get a bit curious about, and is becoming a staple in our wonderful and diverse food culture.

Any vendors interested in the new food truck venture at Federation Square are encouraged to send an email to email popups@fedsquare.com with the following details: company name, cuisine, menu, Streatrader registration certificate, insurance and vehicle specs, weight and dimensions (axle to axle).

Melbourne has been a culinary hot spot for many years, thanks to the diversity in cultures and vibrant food hubs. There is always room for improvement though, and for Melbourne that seems to be heading towards accessibility.  Food trucks are the best way to make great food accessible to the public.

Fed Square’s Summer program is a big win for the food truck sector. The team here at Melbourne Food Festivals is excited and encourages Melbourne Food Truck owners to get on board!
