Sports Pick: Australian Open 2021
8 February – 21 February 2021

The 2021 Australian Open arrives three weeks after its usual start date this February 8 at Melbourne Park, lasting until 21 February. The entire event will reportedly enforce social distancing and will follow COVID-safe guidelines. Beyond the tennis stands, the Australian Open is also a hub of community style and quality food choices around the venue.

Arts Pick: NGV Triennial
19 December – 18 April 2021

NGV Australia continues its ngv.vic.gov.au event: an international gathering of modern and contemporary art from international artists including Refik Anadol, Jeff Koons, Misaki Kawai, Hannah Brontë and Nari Brown. You can participate in a virtual tour of the NGV, visit the gallery during ticketed session times, or take advantage of the limited free sessions to NGV Australia, Fed Square, and NGV International.

Events Pick: Live at the Bowl
14 January – 23 April 2021

Live at the Bowl 2021 is back, hosted at the iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl, just in time for summer. With performances like Hannah Gadsby, free concerts, family-friendly events and a music-filled Chinese New Year celebration lined up for February, Live at the Bowl promises a summer-long event like no other.

Stage Pick: Come From Away
January – February 2021

This international musical Come From Away finally made its way to Australia. Set in a small town in Newfoundland, Canada, after the events of 9/11, the musical highlights humanity at its best. Stellar performances and amazing production are set to grace the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne this February.

Festival Pick: VIDA – Melbourne Latin Summer Festival
19 February – 21 February 2021

Vibrant Latin art, spectacular entertainment, and a smorgasbord of cultural food graces our Melbourne summer between February 19 to 21. Held across the NGV at Tom’s Block on St. Kilda Road, this multicultural celebration offers the finest of Latin cuisine and has entertainment hubs for all ages, from a Salsa competition to Maraca making and more.
