Did you know the world produces enough food to feed everyone? Yet, somehow 800 million people on this Earth are suffering from hunger. Think about that, 1 in 9 people are suffering and 60% of the, are women. Those facts are disgusting and if we all lend a helping hand we will be able to help all those suffering in the battle of world hunger.
Each year on October 16th the UN celebrates World Food Day, with events being organised in over 150 different countries dubbing it the most celebrated event on the UN calendar. The events ran across the world are to raise awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and to ensure food security and better diets for all those suffering.
Every year hunger kills more people than malaria, tuberculosis and aids combined. Around 45% of infant deaths are due to malnutrition. One third of food produced around the world is lost or wasted.
